Multi-Purpose Maintenance Officer

Your role

Expected services:

Continuously ensuring proper functioning of facilities, good condition of workplaces and user satisfaction. All areas inside campuses are included, particularly laboratories where the infrastructures are linked to sensitive activities with high technological and regulatory requirements. The work environment includes the following: energy production and distribution, HVAC, fluid and gas distribution, sanitary installations, electrical installations. As a maintenance officer in charge of those installations, you ensure their availability, compliance with health and safety regulations and efficient energy use while always being user comfort oriented.

Preventive maintenance of the technical installations covered by this position is outsourced to external providers. For troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on these same installations, the University performs the work both internally and externally depending on their complexity. Given that the University outsources the maintenance of its technical installations, the maintenance levels expected for this position are 1 and 2 (according to French standard NF X60-000 – 2016).

Responsibilities:

• Regular inspections of installations, use of the internal service request processing platform and the CMMS software
• Use of facilities monitoring software, data interpretation
• Support and follow-up of interventions by external service providers, ensuring their execution according to the planned schedule and scope of intervention, e.g., maintenance on the main technical installations: HVAC, electricity, carpentry, periodical inspections, various scale work
• Contribute to solving non-compliance observations made by regulation bodies
• Verification of intervention reports and delivery slips
• Carry out inventory monitoring and ensure proper level of stocks
• Requesting price quotes from external service providers, issuing purchase orders
• Regular reporting to management, provide proposals and recommendations for improvements

Scope of activities:

The work will be performed at one or more of the University’s sites. The usual working hours are from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. However, these hours may be adjusted to ensure sufficient team coverage between 7am to 6pm. Depending on the needs, work may also be required between 6am and 10pm or outside of these hours, including, where applicable, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. To ensure service continuity, the position is part of the internal on-call organization.

Your profile

Diploma and professional experience :

Vocational Baccalaureate in HVAC systems or similar, enabling the candidate to perform the expected services. Experience in the relevant fields will be an asset. Qualification for BT-H/V (A) electrical certification.

• Demonstrate organization and methodical approach in carrying out assigned tasks
• Ability to analyze how technical installations work and the risks of their malfunction
• Proactivity in analyzing failures and responsiveness in corrective interventions
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, in the common interest, and to report to management
• Committed to providing professional service to users (customer-oriented)
• Demonstrates autonomy and initiative
• Proficient in standard computer applications such as Word and Excel
• Ability to write reports or summaries as needed

Language requirements: Excellent command in French (C1) is essential. The University of Luxembourg is characterized by a multicultural environment. A Good working knowledge of English (B1) is required: B1 level according to the CEFR.
