The Payment Markets & Partnerships team is responsible for the management, development and optimization of PayPal's core payment systems and payment partners across PayPal Inc. You will be responsible for looking after PayPal's payment capabilities and partnerships in Europe optimizing around the KPI's of performance, cost and revenue enablement. You will span PayPal’s payment processing across SEPA markets and expanding PayPal’s capabilities in these markets. Responsibilities will include managing relationships and contracts with our payment partners (for example, key bank partner relationships) managing scheme relationships (for example European Payments Council), liaising, and supporting internal stakeholders (Product management, Compliance Legal, Government Relations, etc.) and managing payments innovation and regulatory change pertaining to European markets. This requires excellent communication and influencing skills, operating at senior level both within PayPal and representing PayPal’s business externally. It also requires a deep working knowledge of European payments and ability to influence, interpret and decipher market opportunities for PayPal core payment processing capabilities. You will be based in Luxembourg reporting to the Head of Markets and Partners with Payments for Europe and UK.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
Commercial and relationship management of a portfolio of European payment relationships and be the first point of contact for PayPal
Negotiate contracts and manage commercial relationships with service providers and payments partner
Drive payments partnerships that optimize our KPI's of processing costs, authorization rate & revenue enablement and find new opportunities
Analysis and optimization of our payment solutions and make recommendations to improve transaction approval success rates
Develop senior and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (payment ecosystem, etc.)
Be a payments subject matter expert supporting multiple control functions in navigating payments regulation
Support Lux Bank oversight and Senior Executives oversight supervision, contribute to relevant forums and committees
Skills and Experience :
A tenured payment leader with proven leadership and partnership track record
Deep understanding of European payments including processing, settlement, scheme regulation, payment economics and financials
Experience of managing strategic partnerships with financial institutions and key European payment schemes
A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement strategy and also be a highly effective hands-on problem solver
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to influence and lead outcomes both internally and externally
Team player with an ability to thrive in a cross functional and fast paced global business and deliver on key business objectives
French language will be a plus
