How will you contribute?
You will be integrated in the BIODIV group where teammates will share their knowledge and know-how with you.
Your mission will include :
- Participating to RDI projects on biodiversity monitoring and assessment under supervision of the scientific staff
- Contributing to the organisation of and actively participating to data / sample collection in the field for several taxa (e.g. plants, invertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, mammals) in terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems
- Handling and processing field samples in the lab (e.g. wildcat hairs, freshwater invertebrates, flying insects)
- Contributing to the development of innovative solutions for the collection, processing and analysis of field data and samples
- Organising the processing and management of various types of environmental data used in spatial tools and models
- Contributing to the preparation of technical or policy-oriented reports, oral / poster presentations, and scientific publications
- Generating and protecting IP in the context of your activities (e.g. patents, licences)

Education
MSc degree in a relevant discipline such as environmental / biological sciences, ecology, conservation biology or equivalentExperience and skills
MUST HAVE
Acquaintance with the implementation and development of biodiversity monitoring or assessment programmesField experience with biodiversity data collection and sampling methods and toolsIdentification skills for some of the species / groups targeted by the biodiversity monitoring programmes in LuxembourgExperience with GIS applications and / or spatial data management softwarePronounced sense of organization and ability to prioritize multiple tasksAbility to work both independently and in a team settingDriving license valid in Luxembourg and ease of use of vehicles in the fieldNICE TO HAVE
Motivation for the preservation of the natural environment and eagerness to carry out field activitiesExperience with laboratory work (e.g., handling field samples)Experience with (or marked interest for) novel technologies and their application to biodiversity sampling and monitoringGood understanding of statistical methods and knowledge of data analysis software and associated programming languagesGood skills in oral communication, an aptitude for scientific writing, and an interest to work on multidisciplinary projectsLanguage skills
Sufficient level of English to communicate efficiently with your teammates. French and / or Luxembourgish would be an asset.Starting date
