About the FSTM

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.

Your role

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine  (FSTM) is in a constant development and offers several teaching programs in Life Sciences at the bachelor and master level. The Life Sciences teaching team in charge of the organization of the practicals in the different teaching laboratories aims at hiring a highly skilled and motivated biology technician for a new open position in order to guaranty a smooth running of teaching activities.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Prepare the teaching and exam sessions daily and assist the teaching staff
  • Contribute to the application and definition of general safety and development rules for the laboratories
  • Ensure the maintenance and updating of teaching laboratories materials and facilities
  • Ensure consumable management and reconditioning after use
  • Manage the ordering, inventory, cleaning and storage of the equipment

Your profile

  • Technician degree or equivalent in biology / biochemistry or related field
  • 1-3 years previous professional experience at least as biological laboratory technician
  • Rigor, autonomy and organizational skills
  • Ideally strong expertise in microscopy, animal / cell & molecular biology
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety rules
  • Excellent practice of MS Office software and PC management
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills
  • Fluency in French and English. German is an asset
