Reporting to the Director of US International Compliance, you’ll join PayPal’s Global Tax Reporting & Compliance team and collaborate closely with colleagues across Tax, Controllership, and Business teams to ensure accurate, timely tax provision and compliance.
Your Way to Impact
In this role, you’ll lead the analysis of tax legislation, support audits, and provide guidance on new initiatives. You will own the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, forecast effective tax rates, and manage local tax compliance.
Your Day-to-Day
You will oversee tax reporting and compliance across Luxembourg, Germany, the UK, and other EMEA and Middle East countries. Your key responsibilities include :
Interpreting and assessing the impact of evolving tax laws on PayPal’s operations
Reviewing business initiatives for tax implications and compliance
Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provisions with local controllership teams
Supporting statutory tax provisions and compliance activities
Evaluating FIN 48 / IFRIC reserves and preparing thorough supporting documentation
Assisting with preparation and review of local income tax returns
Providing audit support and maintaining strong documentation for tax positions
Supporting Pillar 2 minimum tax calculations and compliance requirements
Collaborating with controllership teams to provide data and insights for local tax audits
What You Need to Succeed
You’re a self-driven professional with strong analytical skills and confidence navigating complex tax issues across multiple jurisdictions. You bring energy, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience); CPA preferred, Master’s in Taxation a plus
8+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, with solid expertise in ASC 740 income tax accounting for multinational, publicly traded companies
Strong knowledge of Luxembourg, German, and other EMEA tax regulations, plus familiarity with U.S. tax concepts, US GAAP tax provisions, and international compliance
Experience with OECD BEPS, Pillar 2, and country-by-country reporting is highly desirable
Deep technical tax expertise with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills—able to clearly explain complex tax topics to non-specialists
Proactive, adaptable team player who thrives managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Corptax, OneSource Tax Provision, and SAP S / 4HANA is a plus
