Job Title : Accounting Manager IFRS Network

Part of ArcelorMittal Flats Europe Finance central team, the Accounting Manager IFRS Network will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting at the Segment level. This position requires a deep understanding of IFRS, local GAAPs, and technical accounting topics. The successful candidate will manage the preparation of annual impairment tests, coordinate monthly closing processes, and serve as the primary contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders (GAPM).

Key Responsibilities :

  • Annual Impairment Test :  Preparation of the annual impairment test at Segment level (Europe Flat Products) to support the recoverability of Goodwill, Assets, Investments based on IAS 36
  • Local GAAP Compliance :  Assist legal entities within Flat Europe in performing annual impairment tests for statutory purposes based on local GAAPs.
  • Technical Accounting Coordination :  Oversee technical accounting topics at segment level, including the preparation of technical memoranda, accounting assessments, and analysis of leasing contracts.
  • IFRS Network Organization :  Organize periodic meetings to discuss new requirements and relevant accounting topics within the Segment.
  • Monthly Closing Process :  responsible for the coordination of various financial reporting topics, including but not limited to :
  • Inventory valuation (e.g. Net Realizable Value)
  • CO2 cost, Co2 emission factor calculation
  • EBITDA reconciliation
  • Joint Ventures :  Monitor the financial results of joint ventures at segment level and reporting for Board of Directors.
  • Statutory Auditing :  Serve as the statutory auditor for AM Flat Products Europe Holding.
  • Ad Hoc Projects :  Provide coordination and support on topics such as Off-Balance sheet commitments, balance sheet reviews, employee benefits de-risking, and ESG reporting implementation.
  • Internal Audit Monitoring :  Track the implementation status of Internal Audit recommendations to ensure timely compliance.
  • External Audit Liaison :  Act as the first point of contact with external auditors and Group Accounting and Performance Management (GAPM) to resolve audit or financial reporting issues and organize management reviews.

Qualifications :

  • Chartered Accounting degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Former experience with Big 4
  • Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector .
  • Extensive experience in accounting, with a strong focus on IFRS .
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, impairment testing, and technical accounting topics.
  • Skills of SAP and Business Intelligence
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum experience of 8 years in field.
  • Experience working with BPM reporting tool is highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting and implementation is a plus.
