Senior Engineer, Network & Cyber Security
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are looking for a (Senior) Engineer, Network & Cyber Security for the Solutions Engineering team in SES TechCom Luxembourg.
In this role, you will join a team of talented engineers, who work on European governmental and institutional satcom projects.
This role aims to support TechCom's various projects and ensure their security aspect. The projects include for example the Eagle-1 programme and other humanitarian projects.
You will be leading the security aspect in all of TechCom's projects, starting from the proposals up until the handover phase.

You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list) :
- Deliver Cyber Security Engineering in projects and services to customers within the agreed budget, specification and schedule, meaning :
- Conceptualize, design, implement and support secure solutions for complex heterogenous systems
- Engineer and maintain the cybersecurity aspect that results in a secure, efficient and effective operation for both present and future platforms and customer solutions
- Conduct assessments of threats, risks and vulnerabilities, and develop appropriate mitigation countermeasures
- Develop new opportunities focused on quantum communication infrastructure, navigation, emergency response, GovSatCom and other current and planned TechCom service and technology developments
- Interface and engage with external partners (e.g. customers, NGOs, Governmental bodies, investment partners, vendors...)
- Lead SES TechCom's proposal activities from Cyber Security Perspective in the following stages :
- Technical Specifications
- Statement of Works
- Cost Estimations
- RFIs and RFPs
YOUR PROFILE : Must Have
Must Have
- Master’s degree in ICT, Cyber Security or similar
- Minimum 5 years' of experience in cyber security engineering and implementation of ICT and networking systems
- Willingness to undergo a ESA / EU / NATO secret clearance process
- Experience with security principles, methodologies, cryptography, information security systems and firewall configuration
- Familiarity in one or more of the following topics :
- Sales engineering
- Knowledge of performance, risk, cost and schedule analysis
- Software and System Development Lifecycle
- Knowledge in or more the following technologies, frameworks and concepts :
- Key Management Systems
- ECSS standards, ISO standards
- NIS2 directive
- Cisco, Juniper or Checkpoint systems
- Certifications such as CCNSA, CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS...
Nice to Have
- Experience in Red / Blue team activities
- Experience working on institutional projects, such as with NATO and ESA, and familiarity with related regulations
- Ability to travel internationally
