China Taiping Insurance (LU) S.A. is seeking a Senior Legal Officer / Legal Manager (depending on experience). MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE The Legal Manager 's responsibilities and primary duties include but are not limited to the following : 1. Act as the key contact point for the Legal Function, under the supervision of the Head of Compliance & Legal Department; direct reporting line to the Head of the Department; 2. Ensure that our organisation operates within the law at all times; 3. Provide sound legal advice and guidance to the Management Committee and other stakeholders (departments); 4. Work closely with other departments to ensure that legal considerations are integrated into business decisions and strategies; 5. Oversee all legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, litigation, and risk management; 6. Develop and implement legal strategies to support business objectives; 7. Handle complex legal issues and litigation matters; 8. Support business departments on product development and drafting product documentation; 9. Negotiate and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, including (re)insurance contracts and broker agreements (TOBA); 10. Collaborate with external legal counsel and manage relationships with law firms; 11. Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations; 12. Identify and mitigate potential legal risks to the organization; 13. Support the Head of Compliance & Legal Department in developing and delivering training programs on legal topics for employees; 14. Manage the legal department's budget and resources effectively; 15. Handle complaints; 16. Represent the organisation in legal proceedings and negotiations. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience University degree in Law; Minimum 5 years of experience in a legal position in the insurance industry, preferably in Luxembourg; Analytical, synthetic, and solution-oriented mind; Rigor and responsiveness with a sense of confidentiality, in addition to being proactive, combined with very good interpersonal skills; Sense of customer service; Sense of organisation and priorities, ability to anticipate and prioritise emergencies; Familiar with Luembourg's insurance regulatory and legal framework. Skills & Capabilities Very good legal documentation drafting skills; Excellent written and spoken skills in English is a must.
