The Communication Officer-Event Manager is a member of the Marketing & communication team. She / he primarily provides internal communication and event management expertise to enhance the visibility and reputation of LIH across a wide range of international / local audiences. She / he is responsible for the organisation of a variety of internal (corporate, social) and external events (scientific congresses, educational / public outreach activities, fundraising events) and their promotion through various channels (e.g. social media, intranet, internal screens, etc) to generate visibility, raise awareness, build the brand reputation and promote the goals and activities of the institute. She / he also is responsible for internal communication activities, including the management and development of the intranet, the preparation and dissemination of monthly newsletters and the management of the LIH-branded merchandises. She / he works directly with external partners, internal clients and act as point of contact for LIH designated suppliers. She / he also provides day-to-day support to the Marketing & Communication department's activities and projects. Key Accountabilities Public outreach communication & event management Contribute to the development of communication outreach strategy and plan to inform and engage key stakeholders; Develop communication outreach campaigns, events, materials and tools to increase awareness of LIH's activities and its research programmes within various non-scientific communities; Organise and / or coordinate LIH's participation in public outreach events (Science Festival, Researchers days, Relais Pour la Vie, ING Marathon, Open Days, World Disease Days, etc.) and professional / scientific events (e.g. Healthcare Week); Internal Communication & event management Contribute to the development and implementation of the internal communication strategy and plan in conjunction with senior managers to reinforce the corporate culture and business strategy; Organise, in close collaboration with senior management, quarterly Town Hall meetings and ensure maximum staff attendance / engagement; Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are regularly communicated to employees and stakeholders by planning, editing, writing and distributing internal communications via the relevant internal channels (e.g. newsletter, digital screens, intranet, emails, visual presentations, videos); Manage and contribute to the development of the intranet, and contribute to the development of its contents by proofing, editing and posting articles. Federate staff around the LIH brand and build a sense of community by developing and implementing a social event programme and organizing internal corporate events (Summer Party, Christmas Party, monthly social events, etc.). Other accountabilities Contribute to the development of LIH's marketing & communication strategy and plan; Advise researchers and help recruit event organisation suppliers for the organisation of scientific conferences; Help define, develop and prepare marketing messages and content for material to promote LIH activities and services; Establish and maintain excellent cooperative relationships with all key stakeholders; Provide assistance as required in preparing internal documents, reports and communications. Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Communication / Journalism / Marketing with demonstrated experience ideally in a medical / scientific context; Two years event management and internal communication experience, ideally within a medical / research institution, a communication agency, a scientific medium or a medical publishing environment; Personal interest in the sector of scientific research and biomedicine; Fluent in French and English, with German and Luxembourgish being particularly valuable assets; Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools (e.g. CMS, social media), and basic Adobe Suite skills; Adaptable and flexible individual; Good time‐management and organisation skills; Ability to prioritise and multitask; Confidence and discretion.
