Job description
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead accounting and financial reporting activities for entities across Luxembourg and Europe.
- Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with local statutory requirements and international reporting standards.
- Review accounting records, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet positions.
- Coordinate with external accounting providers and monitor the quality and accuracy of delivered work.
- Oversee intercompany accounting, recharges, financing transactions, and reconciliations.
- Manage the preparation and filing of annual financial statements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Support external and internal audits, ensuring timely delivery of audit documentation and responses.
Indirect Tax & Regulatory Reporting
- Manage VAT compliance activities across several European jurisdictions.
- Review and submit periodic VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, EC Sales Lists, and related regulatory filings.
- Coordinate with external advisers regarding UK VAT requirements.
- Support tax audits, information requests, and inspections from relevant authorities.
- Monitor VAT recovery opportunities and refund claims.
- Identify compliance risks and recommend process improvements.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Produce meaningful financial insights to support management decision-making.
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and challenge assumptions.
- Evaluate business risks and opportunities while proposing mitigation strategies.
- Present financial results, forecasts, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Contribute to the implementation of finance systems and digital solutions.
- Drive automation initiatives and continuous process improvements.
- Improve reporting efficiency, data quality, and financial controls.
- Support finance transformation projects at local and group level.
Business Partnering & Strategic Projects
- Collaborate closely with asset management, property management, treasury, investment, and corporate teams.
- Provide financial guidance to operational and executive stakeholders.
- Participate in acquisitions, disposals, developments, restructurings, and integration projects.
- Review due diligence information and support transaction-related analyses.
- Contribute to corporate initiatives, financing projects, and organizational changes.
What Makes a Successful Candidate?
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in financial accounting, reporting, and controlling.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and European statutory reporting requirements.
- Proven exposure to multi-country finance environments.
- Experience managing VAT compliance and regulatory reporting.
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
