Senior Accountant

Goal

The main goal of this position is to ensure the smooth running of a variety of technical insurance accounting and regular accounting tasks .

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities (book invoices, travel/VISA expense, reconcile payments and vendor accounts, manage company assets, reconciliation balance accounts);
• Ensure the smooth running of a variety of technical insurance accounting and regular accounting tasks on both operational and overseeing levels
• Ensure accurate data/figures reconciliation between the various systems used by the company (accounting and core insurance systems)
• Taking part in the development of tools, perform testing and validations of the systems (UAT) for IFRS 17
• Gather requested data and information for external/internal audits and make sure this process meets the regulatory and quality standards
• Act as an active support to other team members for all accounting related matters and daily tasks, by sharing knowledge and providing hands-on assistance.

Profile

• Recognized higher qualification in accounting
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the insurance sector or financial services
• Good knowledge of IFRS and financial accounting
• Experience with SAP accounting system is an asset
• Familiar with the application of insurance laws and codes is highly appreciated.
• Good knowledge of specific accounting regulations in Luxembourg
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• A hands-on and resourceful team player
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel
