WESTPOLE - System Engineer

Job purpose To maintain, optimize, supervise and enhance the IT platform infrastructure.

To ensure that market best practices are followed, in compliance with audit and standard requirements.

To review and validate processes and procedures.

To bring new ideas and input by doing technological watch.

The role Ensure and manage platform security, maintenance, performance, recoverability and reliability.

Ensure platform service uptime, monitoring and backup / restore.

Configure and maintain Linux (RedHat), Windows Servers and VMware Platform.

Manage Infrastructure and Application monitoring platform (SolarWinds, VMware vRealize).

Participate in Azure and Office365 configuration management.

Participate in platform architectural decisions and capacity planning.

Support IT Platform services (RabbitMQ, NoSQL, SMTP...).

Use infrastructure as code (GIT / TerraForm / Ansible).

The ideal candidate Holds a university degree in IT Engineering or Computer Sciences.

Has 3-5 years of work experience in System Administration for Engineer role.

Has the wish to automate the infrastructure component using modern technology.

Has some cloud knowledge.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of ITIL processes.

An ITIL certifications will be an asset.

Effective team player and able to demonstrate initiative, autonomy and flexibility in their work.

Dynamic, rigorous, focused on user's needs and able to work under pressure.

Brings new ideas and inputs to the client's platform services.

Fluent in English & French.

Any other European language is considered as an asset.
