ABAKUS IT-Solutions - System Administrator (Unix)

We are looking for a reliable Unix System Administrator to join our team and support the stability, performance, and security of our infrastructures.

Your role

Administering Unix / Linux servers (installation, configuration, patching, and updates)

Monitoring system health and performance, ensuring uptime and reliability

Troubleshooting incidents and providing 2nd / 3rd level support

Managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights

Applying security policies and performing system hardening

Maintaining backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures

Preparing and updating system documentation

Collaborating with other IT teams (network, application, database) for smooth operations

Your profile

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience

Languages : Fluent in English (French or Dutch is an asset)

Minimum 3+ years as a Unix / Linux System Administrator

Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, AIX, or Solaris

Knowledge of Shell scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.) for automation

Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, etc.)

Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP)

Experience with backup / recovery solutions and ITIL processes is a plus
