They are one of the first cryptocurrency exchanges to hold licenses to operate across Europe, the US, and Japan combined. The firm is licensed by the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance and regulated by the CSSF in Luxembourg and was the first Luxembourg-based company to receive the Virtual Asset Service Provider registration with the CSSF. With a dynamic and international team passionate about virtual currency and blockchain technology, the company is now seeking to hire a driven and experienced Head of Accounting to lead their accounting function and ensure the integrity, transparency, and efficiency of financial operations within a regulated environment. The Role : Lead and manage the company's accounting team, fostering continuous improvement and process efficiency. Oversee all financial accounting activities, including revenue accounting, accounts payable, month- and year-end closings, and financial controls. Maintain and update accounting procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. Prepare, analyze, and control internal and external financial statements and results. Liaise with Operations and Compliance to safeguard client assets and ensure effective processing. Manage bank accounts, cash management, and reconciliations. Ensure accurate corporate tax (direct and indirect) calculation and compliance. Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audits. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Implement systems and tools to enhance efficiency and automation in accounting processes. Cooperate with overseas offices on finance-related matters to ensure transparency and alignment across the group. Participate in internal and global projects, ensuring coordinated processes across the company. Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, including to the CSSF. The Profile : Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACMA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent). At least five years' proven experience with increasing responsibility in accounting / finance, preferably in regulated Financial Services companies (e.g., payment institutions, banks). Hands-on experience in all aspects of accounting, from journal entry to reporting Strong knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP; familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP is highly advantageous. Proficient in MS Excel and experienced with accounting software. Experience in multicultural environments; previous exposure to Japanese multinationals is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Japanese proficiency is considered a strong asset. Results-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable under pressure.
