The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) at the University of Luxembourg is an interdisciplinary research centre committed to high-quality research and public dissemination in the field of contemporary history with a particular focus on digital methods and tools.
The C²DH's ambition is to venture off the beaten track and find new ways of doing, teaching and presenting contemporary history of Luxembourg and the history of Europe in the 20th and 21st centuries. It serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative scholarship and new forms of public dissemination.
Your role
- Conduct independent research within the "Digital History & Historiography" axes of the centre
- Contribute to the development of training materials and workshops for MA students and doctoral candidates
- Participate in "trading zone initiatives" of the C2DH and support interdisciplinary collaboration between research groups
- Publish in high-impact journals and present your work at international conferences
- Assist in the support and coordination of research activities of the C2DH director
Your profile
PhD in History, Digital Humanities, Data Science, or a related fieldStrong interest in digital history, machine learning, data visualization, digital hermeneutics; an interest in media history or history of technology would be an assetFluency in English and good knowledge of French or GermanAbility to work both independently and in a team and to meet deadlinesPragmatic and effective in the organization of work and goal-oriented in terms of outcomesWe offer
