We are currently looking for a Senior Software Systems Architect. What we can do together We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Systems Architect to join our dynamic engineering team. You will lead a Chapter and steer key decisions related to software systems architecture, software design, tech stack for projects on Edge Computing, including Satellite Image Processing and Algorithm Optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, development, integration, validation, and maintenance of complex software systems. Your responsibilities will include : Create and implement robust, scalable, and efficient back-end architectures for software systems used in space applications. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation about the product and the processes, including software architecture diagrams (UML, C4Model), software design specifications, software requirements documentation, user guides, and API documentation. Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define software requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions and architectural designs. Provide expert guidance during project proposals and reviews. Participate in the integration of software components and ensure that thorough testing is performed in order to guarantee seamless operation within the overall system. Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in back-end development and assess their applicability to current and future projects. Participate in coding standards to maintain high quality codebases and system integrity. Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies. About you We are looking for an engineer with significant experience working on complex software systems. Specifically, you should have : At least 5 years of hands-on experience with RESTful micro-services and embedded software; Proficiency in Go, Python, other memory-safe language knowledge; RUST is highly appreciated; Proficiency with SQL / NoSQL databases; Proficiency with Docker and Git, Scrum or Kanban frameworks and tools like JIRA; Experience with tools such as OpenAPI, or Postman. Use of wikis or documentation platforms like Confluence for internal knowledge management; Experience with software modelling frameworks (C4Model, UML …). Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation like system architecture diagrams, API documentation, software design specifications (SDS), or documents associated to the BID phase; Strong communication skills in English for effective cross-functional collaboration; Analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions; Understanding of project lifecycle management and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders. Additional skills and experience in any of the following topics would be highly valued : Understanding of satellite operations, space communication protocols, and related technologies. Knowledge of hardware-software integration. Knowledge of modern cloud computing technologies such as WASM. Understanding of edge computing paradigms and Internet of Things (IoT) integrations relevant to space applications.
