Your role
The jobholder’s role is to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) under the supervision of the Assistant to the Director.
The person will work closely with the C²DH Communication department and the central services of the University, the external suppliers and the C²DH administrative assistants.
Communication and social media presence (approx. 50% to 70%)
- Bring a creative eye to how we represent our research and our people visually
- Manage C²DH’s social media strategy, calendar, and day-to-day posting
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and on-brand way
- Develop and lead social media campaigns for research projects and strategic moments
- Cover events, visits, and outreach activities and turn them into timely social content
- Track performance via appropriate metrics and share insights to continuously improve engagement strategy
- Shoot and edit photos at C²DH events
- Create branded visual assets for social media across different formats (photo, video, document posts, stories)
Administrative preparation of events (approx. 30% to 50%)
- Provide logistical support for meetings, workshops, events, presentations and lectures
- Coordinate and plan agendas, meetings and team schedules
- Liaise with university administration, internal & external services
- Manage orders, monitor equipment and handle material logistics
- Organise, classify and archive books, brochures and other materials
- Draft internal notes, announcements and brief information messages when required
- Contribute to internal processes such as the internal newsletter and updates of the C²DH toolbox
- Maintain and update contact databases
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of invitations and email send‑outs
- Support alumni and fundraising‑related tasks such as platform updates, mailings, event assistance
Your profile
- A university degree in Communications, Humanities, Business, or a related field
- Proven experience in communication or a creative similar role e.g., contact databases, email campaigns, content drafting, social media, alumni/fundraising support
- Experience on social media content strategy; Know-how in storytelling and an instinct for what makes content resonate with different audiences
- A strong visual eye: able to conceptualise branded content, draft designs, and create compelling visuals independently, experience with Canva
- Experience in photography and/or video production
- Confident user of modern office software and content-management tools
- Ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
- Reliable, methodical and able to meet deadlines
- Fluency in English, French and German is required. Luxemburgish would be considered an asset
