Supply Chain Manager, Capacity Execution, AMXL EU Supply Chain Execution

Amazon's Supply Chain Managers play a central role in our global business. They keep our complex, international supply chains working seamlessly and efficiently. As a Supply Chain Manager in Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) EU, you will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Amazon, from operational teams who are fulfilling customer orders to retail teams and everything in between. You'll help us optimise our supply chains to make our customer experience even better and our business more energy and cost efficient.
As AMXL EU Sr. Supply Chain Manager, Capacity Execution, you will be responsible for managing significant operational and service growth across our European operations as well as implementing standardised process and quality for our Amazon two-person / special handling delivery service. To succeed in this role, you need to be comfortable making business decisions in a fast-paced and evolving work environment and partnering with various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organisation. This role will include a mix of long-term strategic projects and short-term tactical scope. You will bring strong business judgment, deep curiosity about how things work, strong written and oral communication skills, and a passion for creating effective processes and mechanisms that scale.
The role is responsible for the Production Planning, Labour Planning, and Capacity Execution function for AMXL EU, and is located in our Luxembourg Amazon HQ office, with Barcelona corporate offices also available as an option.
You will collaborate with and present to senior stakeholders to shape network-level strategic decisions. You will bring an analytical background that enables you to support network planning and demonstrate the ability to think broadly and strategically about operational initiatives. You will experience a wide range of problem-solving situations, requiring extensive use of data collection and analysis, in partnership with teams including fulfilment operations leadership, HR, finance, supply chain, transportation, and global system development.


Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Be responsible for Fulfilment Centre, Sort Centre, and Inbound Cross-Dock Labour and Production Planning, Capacity Execution, as well as cost and service optimisation for the EU AMXL network
• Partner with and present to senior leadership, business and finance stakeholders to gather and share data-driven insights
• Support input forecasting using trend analysis and statistical modelling to support decision-making
• Build short, medium, and long-term operational plans to minimise variable costs associated with staffing
• Analyse and solve business problems with a focus on understanding root causes and identifying forward-looking opportunities
• Communicate complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing
• Participate in global operational and production planning initiatives and project rollouts to support growing business needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote process improvement and standardisation across all sites in the network


A day in the life
Being a Supply Chain Manager for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. You'll work with a number of teams to navigate challenges as and when situations impact our network. You'll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to help Amazon achieve new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you'll have the opportunity to help forecast and plan for new projects.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you'll need to help with both operational tasks and more tactical work. No two days will be the same. You could spend one day helping to define our supply chain and operating models and the next assisting with a site's resource plan for a busy period. Having so much variety in your role means you'll be able to learn something new every day.
This role is based at one of our European headquarters in Luxembourg, or at our Barcelona corporate offices.

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) looks after heavy and bulky items like furniture and large home appliances. Our team manages the entire service, from supply chain fulfilment, to delivery and returns. What sets this service apart from others is the extra level of customer care. Not only do we deliver large items, but we unpack, assemble and install them, and take away old items where needed. With a focus on safety, productivity and innovation, we're changing the way customers buy and receive large goods for the better.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
- Experience working with databases and SQL
- Experience in project or program management
- Experience with operations/supply chain
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, managing end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience leading process improvements
- Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.
