About the Role

We are looking for a Senior UI / Full Stack Java Developer to join our Application Development team within the Technology Department in Luxembourg.

We are a boutique business offering comprehensive asset servicing capabilities across both traditional and alternative funds. Our unique positioning has supported significant business growth, creating an exciting opportunity to join and strengthen an already high-performing technology team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and modernisation of our applications, with a particular focus on building a new user interface for an existing application.

This is a senior and hands-on development role, requiring the ability to understand and analyse an existing system, design and develop a modern UI, and work closely with back-end developers, business analysts, testers and business users to deliver high-quality solutions.

The role will have an approximate 60% front-end / 40% back-end focus.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior UI / Full Stack Java Developer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing a new modern front-end interface for an existing application.
  

• Analysing the existing application architecture, functionality and technical landscape to identify appropriate solutions and opportunities for improvement.
  

• Developing and maintaining front-end components and user interfaces, with a strong focus on usability, performance and maintainability.
  

• Developing and maintaining back-end services and application components in Java.
  

• Working with React, Python and Java to deliver robust and scalable application solutions.
  

• Collaborating closely with back-end developers to ensure effective integration between the UI and underlying services.
  

• Working with business analysts, testers, business users and management to understand requirements and ensure successful delivery of projects and change initiatives.
  

• Enhance, update and maintain existing applications in line with business and technology requirements.
  

• Perform and support application testing, ensuring that changes meet the required functional and technical standards.
  

• Provide 3rd-level support for software and applications developed by the team.
  

• Participate in code management, version control, change management and release management processes.
  

• Contribute to technical design decisions and promote appropriate development standards and best practices.
  

• Identify opportunities to improve application quality, performance, maintainability and user experience.
  

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools and practices.
  

• Stay informed about emerging technologies and identify opportunities to leverage AI capabilities where relevant.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally bring:

• Significant professional experience as a Full Stack Java Developer, with strong expertise in both front-end and back-end development.
  

• Strong proficiency in Java, Python and SQL, preferably with experience working with Oracle databases.
  

• Proven experience designing, developing and maintaining modern user interfaces, ideally using React.
  

• Experience analysing and working with existing applications and legacy systems, with the ability to understand existing architecture and design appropriate modernisation solutions.
  

• Strong understanding of front-end/back-end integration and full-stack application development.
  

• Proven experience with code management and version control practices.
  

• Practical experience with IT delivery processes, including change management and release management.
  

• Experience working in an Agile or structured software development environment would be advantageous.
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, analysts, testers, business users and management.
  

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  

• French and/or German language skills would be an added advantage.
  

• Basic understanding of Fund Administration and/or Transfer Agency processes would be advantageous.
  

• Basic knowledge or practical exposure to Artificial Intelligence and AI-enabled development tools would be an advantage.
