Within the Department of Precision Health, Dr. Torsten Bohn, Head of the Nutrition & Health Research Group (NUTRIHEALTH), in collaboration with his team, aims to explore the world of carotenoids and dietary fibers. A key focus is the role of dietary fibers in the bioaccessibility and cellular uptake of carotenoids, as well as their physico-chemical effects on gastrointestinal digesta. The project will employ in vitro digestion techniques to assess the bioaccessibility of carotenoids
For a project related to NutriHealth, we are offering a 6-month paid internship for Master's (2nd-year) students at our premises.
The main tasks of the Master's student will include working on in vitro digestion, recovering carotenoids, and measuring the physico-chemical properties of the digesta. In the frame of this work, the Master student will benefit from the expertise of Dr. Torsten Bohn in nutrition and health, and Dr. Farhad Vahid in nutrition sciences and food chemistry.
