ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING
Reporting to the Head of UAS and new technologies department, you participate to the implementation of the UAS regulation and to the safety oversight of UAS operators in Luxembourg. Your scope of work will include :
- Monitoring, developing and implementing national and international regulations relating to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS);
- Maintaining and developing associated digital systems (e.g. drone operator registration system, remote pilot training management, etc.);
- Assessment of applications relating to the SPECIFIC category and issuance of operational authorizations, including the management of cross-border applications;
- Assessment of applications and issuance of authorizations for model aircraft clubs;
- Supervision of UAS operators through inspections and compliance audits;
- Management and ongoing development of the UAS geographical zone system, in collaboration with the relevant state entities (Police Grand-Ducale, Administration de la Navigation Aérienne, etc.);
- Dissemination of information and guidance to citizens and relevant entities in order to promote the safety of UAS operations;
- Promotion of UAS operations in Luxembourg;
- Development and coordination of internal processes (Checklists, procedures, etc.);
- Technical support to the Head of Department;
- Participation in international working group or workshop if necessary;
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Post-secondary aeronautical education of a duration of at least 3 years and 2 years of experience within an UAS professional operator / training school;Experience, technical skills and competences
Strong interest in the field of aeronautics, particularly in the integration of UAS into the existing aeronautical environment;Good knowledge of EU regulation 2019 / 947. Knowledge of EU regulation 2019 / 945 will be an asset;Good knowledge of the SORA methodology;Good knowledge of airspaces and aeronautical information services;Technological knowledge of drones;Proficiency in common office and IT tools;Good command of both written and spoken English. Good knowledge of French and / or German language is an assetExperience in an EASA Member Civil Aviation Authority will be an assetQualified or certified in the field of manned / unmanned aircraft piloting or air traffic control will be an asset;Social & personal skills
