The CMDB architect will be responsible for the following activities Develop and maintain the technical design of the ServiceNow & BMC CMDB to meet the current and anticipated scope, maintain CMDB integrity, and effectively support other ITSM processes such as Incident Mgt., Change Mgt.
and Asset Mgt. Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence with CMDB technical design standards Create and maintain CMDB architecture and technical design documentation Proactively identify ServiceNow & BMC technical deficiencies and recommend solutions Evaluate enhancement requests, provide design recommendations, and document technical requirements Ensure solution design and process consistency and continuity across the CMDB, IT Domains, and the processes that depend on the CMDB Design and implement solutions, which may include or require client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, business rules, workflows, and automation Proactively identify and resolve data or functionality gaps in the CMDB Design, implement, manage and ensure the effectiveness of the integration of the CMDB with external sources of data Design, implement, and manage the integration of the CMDB with other systems that receive CMDB data Develop and manage transforms for bulk updates to the CMDB Act as lead architect for the migration from BMC CMDB to ServiceNow CMDB Participate in ServiceNow CMDB upgrade planning, testing, and validation Provide ServiceNow technical leadership, guidance and training as needed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals and objectives Develop and maintain plans for both project and operational activities and provide project or operational briefings / updates as needed Communicate technical challenges and solutions to both technical and nontechnical audiences Required qualifications 5 years' experience with designing / developing technical solutions for a ServiceNow & BMC CMDB, including those related to the Cloud, to maintain CMDB integrity, and to support other ITSM processes such as Incident Mgt., Change Mgt., and Asset Mgt. Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and discovery In-depth understanding and background in CMDB, BMC , ServiceNow Discovery, Service mapping, and performance analytics Experience developing and maintaining CMDB technical design standards Demonstrated experience creating / maintaining CMDB technical documentation Experience working with stakeholders to evaluate enhancement requests, Providing designing recommendations, and documenting technical requirements Experience designing solutions that include or require client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, business rules, workflows, and automation Experience integrating the ServiceNow & BMC CMDB with external data sources (e.g. : SCCM) and data consumers Expert understanding of the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow & BMC integration solutions, including ODBC, Rest, SOAP, LDAP, SSL, etc. Strong technical leadership skills Excellent organization skills and an ability to develop and implement plans for transforming issues / requests to completion Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple activities Resourceful, takes the initiative to accomplish goals and objectives Strong understanding of the overall IT infrastructure Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences Preferred qualifications and experience ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (Focusing on CMDB and Discovery) BMC certification DIGIT CMDB team experience ITIL foundation certified Experience in ServiceNow scripting using JavaScript Demonstrated experience implementing ServiceNow's Csdm, preferably version 3.0, and other data model designs for the CMDB
