About the FSTM

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.
Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.

Your role

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and security policies in conjunction with senior safety officers
  • Assist with daily safety operations and follow-up activities within the FSTM
  • Participate in workplace inspections and help identify safety risks
  • Contribute to risk analysis and support the development of risk management strategies
  • Help investigate workplace incidents and suggest preventive actions
  • Coordinate basic safety training needs for staff in collaboration with the team
  • Respond to requests for improving working conditions across UL entities
  • Assist in drafting safety procedures and project guidelines with guidance from experienced colleagues

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant initial experience in a similar role
  • Genuine interest in workplace safety and motivation to grow in the field
  • Basic understanding of HSSE principles and Luxembourgish safety legislation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build trusted relationships with staff
  • Analytical thinking with a focus on practical, safety-oriented solutions
  • Willingness to contribute to safety campaigns, training sessions, and awareness efforts
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other safety officers and departments
  • Proactive attitude and readiness to take initiative under supervision
  • Good organizational skills to support safety-related activities
  • Fluency in English and intermediate level in either French or German
