Valuation Officer (m / f) based in Luxembourg
A new opportunity has arisen for a permanent position as Valuation Officer with the Valuation team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain and strengthen experience in assets’ valuation and be exposed to numerous projects mainly in Real Estate, Private Equity, Private Debt and Infrastructure asset classes. The successful candidate will join the Valuation department, reporting directly to the Head of Valuation.
Your role will require to :
- Review and validate valuation of investments for Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate and Infrastructure assets based on widely accepted valuation techniques in the context of fund structures and the calculation of their NAV, e.g. income approaches such as discounted cash flows and / or market approaches
- Collaborate internally with our Portfolio and Risk Management departments
- Provide support when it comes to valuation of hard-to-value liquid assets (less liquid bond, structured products, OTC derivatives)
- Interact with independent appraisers and our client investment and valuation teams
- Continuously optimize and validate valuation processes, methodologies and tools
- Analyze market data as well as key modeling assumptions and judge on their adequacy
- Participate in new client approval processes with regard to the proposed valuation approach of new alternative investment asset classes
- Drafting of valuation policies and applicable procedures for all types of illiquid assets; work in close connection with the Risk and Valuation committee to approve valuation policy and any subsequent modifications
- Identify and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities
- Keep up to date with valuation standards (e.g., IPEV Guidelines, IFRS Fair Value standards) and regulatory developments impacting valuations
To succeed in this position your profile should have :
3-5 years of valuation work experience with a particular focus on venture, private equity, real estate, private debt, financial advisory, M&A corporate finance - and ideally a path towards acquiring CFA.University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or comparable studies with a specialization in corporate finance or equivalent experienceAdvanced knowledge of valuation techniques for various asset classes such as private equity and venture capital, real estate and infrastructure as well senior, junior and convertible debtA good understanding of all valuation-related regulations (e.g. AIFMD regulation, IPEV and RICS guidelines)Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and BloombergStrong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, ability to understand valuation models and their limitationsStrong knowledge of respective accounting standards (IFRS, Lux GAAP…)Fluent in English, French is a plus.Initiative taker, be able to work independently and solution drivenIf you want to develop your career in a dynamic and international environment, please send us your CV and cover letter to Moovijob.com.
